Zealot is going to start a new program! This sunday will be the first meeting for zealot guys to get together and kick some balls! (dun tell me it sounds wrong =p)

We are holding a soccer training for every guys in zealot, interested just come, i dun care how bad/good u are cuz u can never be better den me =p

Also from this training, a selection will be there to help choose the team for the upcoming match against kabod, on the 7th of DEC.
Attendance is strictly needed!=p

The kismis field at ngee ann poly has been booked from 9am to 12pm. Training will start promptly.

all those who don't know how to go kismis field, go ask ur leader. they should know having went there before.
9am = boots worn ready to train.

therefore please be there before 9am to get ready !! ^_^

i walked pass my room this morning and a particular verse caught my eye. i paste memory verse on my wall so that i will see everyday and get reminded everyday. i think that the verse supports that derek said..

two options:
#1. whine about the situation for 10minutes
#2. pray for 10minutes

for option #1, you whine and you dwell in your unhappiness, wasting your time and getting nothing changed in the process. (erm, the enemy will use this to steal your joy away)

option #2, PRAYER then plus faith which is as small as a mustard seed can move mountains leh. the jesus in my bible says so.

why not choose option #2? o.O

Alright! This is pastor derek here lol. Actually I have 2 sermons to share, but since one requires like face-face, i will reserve it ^_^ Zealot 2 heard it already though ha. ok for this short one ba.. just for an update!! YEAH!! like finally =p

Alright, now lets link from Pastor's sermon. Troubles will come. Anyone thought of why? Why would a loving God give His people trouble? Why not just make us perfect? WHY WHY WHY?!

I remembered abt ongnei every time pastor said, "why me?"
Because when we were about dunno what age, we were playing a game called helbreath. His account got hacked, and he created another account called Whyme.
It's easy to know why rite? hahahahahahhaha...

pretty famous for scamming people this Whyme. lol.

ok now is the deal, the fact is God did make ppl perfect. Adam & Eve? They were good, see they can see each other naked and it is normal to them. No lust. Can you? =p

But you guys know the story, sins and blah blah blah, now we gt an evil nature living inside us!
Let me ask u a question. Do your parents love u? of cuz rite, those who answer no really shd come let me punch u.

Why would a parent tat love u ask u to work during holidays? why would a parent tat love u ask u to eat urself, why not feed u? why would a parent train u to ride a bike by letting u fall on ur butt? why would a parent cane u when u r naughty? why would a parent create a bank account for u and take all ur money away to the bank? why would a loving country send its boys to torture camp in NS? why would a "loving" sergeant give his men push ups? why would a trainer get guys to do exercise every morning? why would a great coach ask u to run 10 laps? (rugby girls? =p)
WHY? because they dun love u? how come u all can understand why these people do it, but when God do it to u, u dun understand? and its not God's doing ok, its not what God purposely wanna do to it.

But it is what God allow. Nothing can happen to you except if God allows it. And if God allows it, He will let u overcome it, for the purpose of Him allowing, is to let u overcome.
I had this belief. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
Aint that true?

Sometimes i think, how come for me to go into leadership like.. quite easy liddat... not boasting but i really had a so called smooth christian life in the beginning. ask BLZ lol

Then i think back, could it be because God has prepared me in some ways or another? Mind you, before Moses parted the red sea, he was trained as a shepard!
things i thought of, NCC.
This cca really trains me alot, taking care of people during camps... looking out for member's welfare, sharing, debrief. How to interact a group is oso important.
there are more.. alot more, cant think already.

NCC was tough, but it trains me! see i can understand why those !@$!%!%! sergeants had to do what they did. But sometimes, why we always blame God for every small little things?
Maybe u kena more jialat. I give u example, maybe u dun come from what people call a "perfect" little family? one father, one mother, one guy, one girl? nice nice family?

u tink, why my life liddat? parents always quarrel!!!!
But let me tell u this, u will grow up to be stronger den most kids! u understand life better!
Most teens think they very de pro, well at least i did.
But when they experience things they nv did, like working? they get a shock.
Some people might start working and studying at like 10 yrs old? yea hard life, tell me who is stronger.
What doesn't kill u, makes u stronger.

So lets imagine God is a trainer now. Whatever applies to u. Boxing, Rugby, Wrestling, Study, Computer Gaming, Bible Study, Soccer, Shopping (highly doubt), Eating, Sleeping, WHATEVER LAH!!

do u wan him to make u come back for extra lessons? more siong exercise for sports? more torturing stomach eating? more hours of reading bible? kick more soccer balls?
which one u wan, u choose.

Though cant really choose lah hahahah, but if God is harsh on u, ur life, be glad instead of complaining. If God allow it, He gives u the strength to overcome, and u will be stronger den most people. Complaining does no work, for ppl whose physics reach a certain level, u will noe that a man pushing against a wall very hard, if the wall doesn't move, its not considered work. That is what we call complaining and worrying. It does nothing, no work done.

Stop pushing against the wall, accept the fact that the wall will be there and make the full use out of it. Like what BLZ say, God give u orange, make orange juice, give u lemon, make lemonade, give u cat, squeeze the piss out of it.

I am telling you, if u are going through a tough time, be thankful and praise HIM! Thats what a christian should do. you are going through like one extra rugby training, or one extra bible study, or whatever u call it.

thanks for all your prayers and im deeply sorry for letting u guys missed me so badly! really sorry! = p haha! rite, so this trip itself has been a fruitful one. made a alot of new china friends and some are actually quite open. Praise God! let's leave the main course to sat service alrite? im sure those first timer who went china will surely have alot of great testimonies to share. But! as for me, i felt that i've grown so much more in the Lord. Saw how God actually put everything according to His plans. Awesome!

Today we have Sis Wanping teaching us about the basics and principles of fasting!

-Fasting is a spiritual discipline that draws us nearer to God-

Matthew 6 talks about, praying, fasting and giving! The frequency of a christian doing these 3 elements should be equal. How often u pray = how often u fast = how often u give!
That's what God will like to see in a christian ba =]

1.) Everyone can fast.
It's a fact! Recorded in the bible, an 84 yr old oso fasted! ( Please dun lose to this old man =.=!)
God knows there is never a convenient time to fast one.. like u wan to fast, den gt distractions all that.. God knows!! But Jesus very the smart. Wan to fast, go mountains where there are no ppl to distract him -.-! More on distractions later..... =p

2.)It's good to start a phase of ur life with a fast!
let me go thru SOME of the phases... first toy... first sermon.. first day of sch.. pri sch, sec sch, poly, jc, ite, uni, money... ops =x i mean work =p
As we grow older, we inevitably faces different phases in life!

The Free Chapel fast as a church for 21 days every start of the year, they believe every year should start wif a fast! Blessing pour on that church like mad i tell u.. 1 million of offering from someone!!
Those having o lvls, its not too late to fast and pray... Let God's blessing be upon u!

-Seek first the kingdom... (find urself)
IT says if u seek God first, u will haf everything else. including good results.
God + good results or good results only? ur choice ^_^ (teens like freedom rite =.= )

3.) Fasting break the spirit of heaviness in problems.
There is a pastor in korea, pastor choo yong gee or smth, dunno how to spell, his church bought an entire mountain! to move it! by faith! nah juz kidding.

They make holes into the mountain, den allow ppl to really spend time with God there.
Whenver people come to him for advice, he say.. go into the mountain and fast & pray.
(cell group ldrs better learn this =p)

4.) We'll hear God, God will hear us.
As u fast and pray, u begin to hear God better!

-Dun be discouraged if u dun see outright results from ur fast, be patient and stand back, see God work. ^_^

How to fast? types of fasting?
-If the fast matters to u, it matters to God.
gt one song... if there is no pain in sacrifice, i rather dun sacrifice. forget how to sing -.-

1.) Normal Fast
No food. only plain water.
Can continue normal activities during the fast. If need be, clear soup and juices can be consumed for energy throughout the day.

2.) partial fast
means u give up certain food. like MEAT.
maybe can give up vegetables. LOL!

3.) Total fast
no food no water no air =x
no la can haf air LOL

1.) start small, dun first time fasting den go for 24 hour fast.. u buay tahan one.. machiam ask u all go run 24km now.. HAHAHAHAHAHAH
2.) by fasting, u r actually purging out toxins from ur body! ^_^
3.) dun attempt to eat alot b4 u fast
4.) keep it a secret! dun tell ppl. because if ppl noe, they will tot u v holy.. that will be ur reward. thats it. but if ppl dunno, God sees. And His rewards come! =]

Cell phone vs. Bible
Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat
our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

hi people!! a few moments ago i was checking my email, and i came across this very interesting story that i would like to share with you guys.. Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn't dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out, "Good morning! What are you doing?"

The young man paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean."

"I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?"

"The sun is up, and the tide is going out, and if I don't throw them in they'll die."

"But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach, and starfish all along it. You can't possibly make a difference!"

just like the starfish out there, people who don't know Jesus are like starfish, they would die it we don't throw them back into the sea. are we going to watch an entire beach of starfish burn in the sun? or should we leave our confort zones of our cozy home, and get to the beach and throw them back into the sea?

tertiary peeps, this friday's barbecue. imagine, the people who are to barbecued are not us, but are our friends when they die and go to hell. are we going to do anything about it? are we going to just sit there and watch them die? or are we going to throw them into the pool right beside it, one by one?

Details for Youth Impact AMAZING RACE 14 JUNE 2008!

Purpose of this event: To have fun! :D Just play hard and crazy! Also to build up a relationship with people. Its a Evangelistic event. Yes. Not to be focusing on winning to get the prizes but but the SOULS and FUN together!

The prizes are good and exciting! Its nice and awesome!!!

1. Attire: Dark colour shirts/ YI t-shirts. You can wear swimming costume inside if you want- you will definitely get wet. Preferably YI tees.

Berm are okay. BUT please NO JEANS and SHORT SHORTS.
What my short shorts means: no FBTs (unless they are those guys type) If you do not have any other shorts than FBTs, please go borrow. I believe there are people who have! :D

So NO slippers. Sandals or shoes only.

2. Time & venue: Probably 10am in church, any changes will let u guys know ASAP!

3. -Bring a change of clothes (inside and outside - you know what i mean )
-Water bottle
-Money for food along the way.
-Bring Ez-link card. Make sure inside has value of at least $5. (If you are using adults, at least $10)
-You can bring bus guide or map too! (if you need!)
-Try to bring a backpack instead of sling bag/shoulder bag. Easier to run! :D

4. What you need to bring along in this amazing race is your fun, excited attitude! Remember to have fun and lift up to God any worries you have okay! Most impt is a GOOD ATTITUDE and you have fun. :D

here to update again. Its taken from my email, from NEW GENERATION.

I believe some of you all have it? (: heh. but never mind, Will post for the the rest who dun have the mail.

Here are some ways you need to look out for if you do something in your school.

1. Always bless people

We have seen that people like to be blessed. They do not like it when you play a joke on them by giving out lollipops which are covered with chili or cookies which have too much salt in it. Your friends will not appreciate it or even be offended. The best results you will have with normal things that everybody likes. Just use something like a lollipop or a sweet and bless them.

2. You do not have to write about Jesus everywhere.

If you write cards to your class or to your entire school you don't have to put Jesus on all the cards. People will not get saved just because they receive a card that says something like "Jesus Loves You". They might even be put off and report you to the principal. We do not want this kind of attention because it might even make it more difficult for you to do things in your school in the future. It is much better to write a card without all the Jesus messages. This will open the people in your school to be a friend to you. You can take the time to first cultivate a friendship with them. After having them as your friends for one or two months you can start to invite them to church and share about Jesus. Then it will be much more impactful than to write "Jesus loves you" onto a card. We don't want to offend people from other believes.

(Its to be wise on what you do in school and not refering about denying Christ. :D)

3. Pray

No matter what you do prayer is always the most important. Pray for your school every day. When you sit in class pray for a short while for your friends and all the other people who do not know Jesus yet. Prayer does amazing things and we all can pray.

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'

His answer surprised me...
'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'

'Yes', I replied.

'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. ' He said.

'In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.' He said.

'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant... But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.'

He asked me. 'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?'.

'I would not quit on the bamboo and likewise I will never quit on you.'
'Don't compare yourself to others.' He said.

'The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.'
'Your time will come', God said to me. 'You will rise high'

'How high should I rise?' I asked.

'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.

'As high as it can?' I questioned.

'Yes.' He said, 'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'

I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.

For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.

A challenge to ALL!

As a new year start, have urself in mind what you wanna achieve this year! again i say, some of us have potentials in area that we dun even realise because we're bounded by sin. IF only we could recognise that God has a PLAN for us in this world, we wouldnt wan to miss it.

give you guys an example:

my new year's resolution is that i wan God to use me to the fullness in the areas He had put me in. When ppl see me, they will see that Christianity is like so different. And that when 2008 is coming to an end and i looked back, i only can see how much God has used me to change my world for Him. isnt it exciting?

Liangzhi? why must set goals? or wat new year's resolution?

1) It keeps us focus! imagine u dun have goals, then when 2008 is ending and u look back. You realise you wasted another year on things that are useless, things that are temporal, things that wun last, things that we cant even bring to heaven!

2) It shows God our sincerity! What for be a Christian and not have our lifes changed to be more like Him? When we have goals, it shows God that hey, im serious in You. Let's do some hardcore stuffs together!

3) It makes our life count! which of us wans a life that is meaningless? or a life that is meserable? Im sure we all wan a life that is full of excitments, complishments, successfulness and so on. And when we have 1 of our leg in the grave alr, we can go peacefully anitime. We wun be worried abt this and that and this and that animore. Have i shared the gospel to enough ppl? have i live a life that is pleasing to God? oh no oh no. ALL these should not be happening in a mature Christian's life!

I pray all of us will have an awesome year ahead. A year that God's plans for us will come to pass. Really excited for 2008!

Merry Christmas Zealot Peeps!

first thing first, Jesus Christ is NOT BORN ON 25th Dec. Please get this clear! lol. Interested to know more? ask me or ur Cell Group Leaders. We'll explain to you clearly. haha! However, 25th Dec is a day where we REMEMBER Him. it's a day where i strongly encourage every single one of you! no matter how busy you are, to take out some time to think thru ALL the things God had done for you in the year 2007.

was thinking thru a few weeks back ago, i realise how graceful God is. Do you know that watever you have now belongs to Him? those things that brings us comfort, like our beds? we ALWAYS use them to sleep. our tooth brush? every morning we use it to brush our teeths so that we can present ourselve nicely infront of our friends? computers??? we use it to chat, surf, do our work! wat about clothes? those nice nice clothes we use it to cover/dress ourselves? can u even imagine walking on the streets naked? how shameful is that? but God knows it and He provided us with clothes. in fact to be precise, He provided us with everything we need.

so peeps, take this Christmas not only as a festival but also a time to be thankful to God. rmb those times when u cried out to Him, and He answered ur prayers? have you actaully thank Him properly? when u r dying to come to church?camp?conference?cellgroup? but ur parents said NO! and u pray and without fail God answered ur prayers? come on peeps! i think God deserve more than wat we can give Him now. He deserve far more greater respect and praises from us.

As 2008 is approaching, i challenge every single one of Zealot peeps, to really have an awesome year with God. to change our world for Him, to glorify His name in our lifes, to shine Jesus so brightly in our community and so much more. let's get ourselve ready for 2008! leaving all our past behind and moving forward! saying NO to our old self and say HELLO to our new self because God has chosen us and He will surely change us. and I wan to co-operate with Him to see myself becoming a better Liangzhi. and of cos, when God sees me, He will smile! wat abt you?

guys, those of you who have brought a friend to Xmas Bash, pls do a solid follow up with them! it is time to take responsiblities of our own friends and not always relying on our leaders. If anithing unsure can always find me or cell group leaders, or at least core leaders.

How to do follow up?

1) Start with a prayer.
2) Afterwhich, give them a call.
3) Ask them about their response for the event like what they feel about the sermon, dance, skit?
4) If they didnt accept Christ, find out the reason why then see whether u know how to tackle it mahs. If they accepted Christ, ask them how they feel? tell them more about Christianity.
5) To those who show signs of wanting to accept Christ, pls be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and lead the conversation.
6) Invite them back this Saturday for cell group and service.

beware too, sometimes when we're too eager in wanting them to accept Christ, we neglected God in the picture. because by doing that, we'll not be able to see God's kind of results. we'll only see man's kind of results which i dun like. be sensitive to God, pray in ur heart. give them the choice to choose whether they wan it or not. yup! because God also gave us a choice and we made the right one! = ) yup!

so ppl, continue to be prayerful and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. follow ups has to be done within 48hours since the time they attended the event. yes! and pls, anione who have questions pls ask. this is the best way to learn liao. so do ur follow ups and continue to pray.

Xmas bash is not for us to relax and enjoy ourselves. we wanna make use of this event which is EVANGELISTIC to reach out to our friends.

we wanna be people of missions, summore God got give us the great commission leh! (which is matthew 28:18-20). before miracles comes obedience. today i keep hearing people talking about SALVATION being the GREATEST MIRACLE. so what if God healed their sickness, so what if they heard the gospel? without SALVATION they cannot have a relationship with God.

i mean like. you dont wanna go to heaven one day and see your friends or family members crying out to you from hell, screaming "WHY DIDNT YOU SHARE ABOUT THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST TO ME EARLIER? WHY MUST I SUFFER HERE JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO AFRAID TO SHARE TO ME?"

and of course everyone of us wants to see zealot area GROW right? dun wanna be stuck with 50+ regulars everyweek right? :D

last few weeks (or is months liao) ps daniel talked about the presence of God remember? when we are hungry for more, when we are dwelling in His presence, when we are close to God, then we will catch His heartbeat.

wow. just a blink of the eye, it's alr 7 dec 2007. we're coming to an end in 2007. and this made me flash back a lot of things. those times when I struggled with so many issues as an area leader. the huge amount of spiritual attacks, temptations weighted upon me. Despite all these struggles, i've managed to made it to this last month not by myself but with God.

i rmb-ed those times:
when i was lost, it is God who re-directed me.
when i was discourage, it is God who encouraged me.
when i've sinned, it is God who forgives me.
when i was weak and tired, it is God who strengthens me.
when i was lonely, it is God who embraced me.

God THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love You.

In the year 2008, i realy dun wanna just make it thru again. i wan a year that i will do extraordinary things for Him. a year that will be filled with overwhelming testimonies. a year that Jesus will be LIFTED UP HIGH thru my life! (God is this my prayer to You.) Amen.

2008 is approaching. i hope u guys will continue to execise your faith! 3 words: dun give up! let God continue to work in ur life, and convict you of the things u're still unsure.

arabian horses: one of the best horses. the horses go through training without water for a very long time. until a point when the horses are really weak, the master will send them towards an oasis. the horses, with their very last bit of strength, will walk towards the oasis in hope for some water. but halfway the master will blow the whistle asking the horses to come back. so this is the point when the master will see which horses are good which are bad. the good ones love their master more than themselves. they will walk back to their masters even though they are really dehydrated and they desperately want to drink water. when they are back, the master will give them a pat on their noses and send them towards the real source of water.

What thing seperates us from the world?
Ans: It's the presence of God

Exodus 33:1-3

I told them, 'I will give this land to your descendants.' And I will send an angel before you to drive out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. Go up to this land that flows with milk and honey. But I will not travel among you, for you are a stubborn and rebellious people. If I did, I would surely destroy you along the way."

The presence of God makes us different.

A true worshipper is one who walks closely with God. True worshippers dwell in His presence daily.

3 things we do in order to have presence of God daily:
#1. A HEART THAT LONGS FOR HIS PRESENCE

Exodus 33:15
Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here."

*Here referings to desert.

Moses desired God more than God's promises and blessings He desired God more than any treasure God could give him!

Worship for who He is and not the things he does.

True worshipper longs for Him, and not His blessings! God wants our life totally. He does not want us to create a line between us and God.

#2. A HEART THAT OBEYS

John 14:12
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

John 14:22-24
Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"

Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

*Home refering to a dwelling place.

Love and obedience are tied together. If we say we love Him, then we must obey Him. Obedience is the key of true worship. Love and obedience cannot be seperated.

Worship is not a slow song.
Worship is obedience.

Genesis 22:5 (NKJ)
And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

*yonder is refering to somewhere out there.

Many of us have many Isaac (things) which we need to let go. If we don't let go, we are not a true worshipper.

#3. A HEART THAT HUNGERS FOR MORE

What we feed ourselves with is what we will become.

who are you worshipping?
the creator or the creation.

elements of worship:
band, song lyrics, ect.

we are WIRED TO WORSHIP.

ask the correct question.
not did i like it,
but DID GOD LIKE IT?

worship is not about you,
worship is not about entertainment.
heart of worship is about God.

God: the only audience
us: performers

the first worship mentioned in the bible is found in Genesis 22:5

GENESIS 22:1-19

5 elements to true worship.

#1 REVELATION.
v1-2. Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

God revealed Himself to abraham.
true worship is based solely on God's revelation of Himself as it is found in the scriptures.
question: is our worship biblical?
we become what we worship.

#2 PREPARATION
v3. Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.

make appropriate preparations. example if queen elizabeth is coming to your house today, surely you will present only the best to her.

#3 SEPERATION
seperation from your studies, work, finances, ect.
we need to seperate ourselves from anything that will draw our attention away from God.

#4 DEDICATION
v6-10. Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

conviction: affirm in your heart.
true worship is always costly. true worship always requires us to give up our best for God's best.
"talent is cheap but dedication is costly"
true worshippers encouter God in a daily basis.

#5 PROCLAMATION
v11-14. But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."

the Lord will provide.
Jehovah Jireh.

praise: proclaiming what God has done.
worship: proclaiming who He is

2 things which result in true worship:

1. RESTORATION
v11-12
isaiah 40:31. but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

2. CONFIRMATION
v15-18. The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me."

worship results in the blessings of the worshippers.

His original plan;
God want us to be spiritual man.
spirit suppose to be the muscle of the man
soul suppose to be steward
body suppose to be servant.

God had given adam the spirit for him to be able to communicate with God.
and a soul for him to communicate with another human being.

Ezekiel 36:26-27
26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

new spirit ; new life in Christ
Holy Spirit living in our spirit.
cause the old spirit to be alive.
before we become christian
our spirit is dead.
when we're born again,
we have a new spirit.
it restore us back to the original plan.

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

this anointing remains in you
anointing is the Holy Spirit.
anointing is real not counterfeit
learn to LISTEN to the Holy Spirit!

Holy Spirit will teach
teach us ALL THINGS.
what is all things?
it's EVERYTHING! including our studies..
He wants us to be wise!

John 4:21
24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth."
every human will worship something for sure. worship money.. worship himself.. worship singer.. human have spirit that's why bound to worship something!

what is worship all about?
John 4:24
21 Jesus replied, "Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem."

they don't welcome samaritan to worship God in the temple.
then samaritan went up to the mount gerizim to worship God.

found in Deut 27:12
12 "When you cross the Jordan River, the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Mount Gerizim to proclaim a blessing over the people.

samaritan chose this mountain to worship God because God ask Moses to went up this mountain to declare blessings upon the israelites.

this mountain is refering to the
blessings of God.

a true worship is NOT because of the blessings of God.
but worship Him for who HE IS!

Jerusalem represents the religious system of man.
using their own effort to worship God.

in Jerusalem:
they are caught up in the religious system that they don't even recognize God.
outwardly they're worshipping God. but inwardly they're rejecting God.

what TRUE WORSHIP is!
original meaning of worship;
prostrate one self, lie flat on the ground
out of respect. out of love.
Romans 12:1
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

this is the spiritual act of worship!
true worship; offer your bodies as living sacrifice!

everything you do at home or school or ANYWHERE. there can also be a worship unto God. your bodies is a living sacrifice.

# Fellowship with God.
1 John 1:3
3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
fellowship with Jesus.
2 Cor 13:14
14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
fellowship with Holy Spirit.

Prayer ;
listening is more important than speaking.
Lord know what you want to say already and what's more you keep repeating everyday.. and that's why God gave us 2 ears, 1 mouth.
He want us to hear and learn double than we speak.

not just saying a prayer. but fellowship with Him.
give Him time to talk to you.
if only we speak and don't give Him a chance to speak..
that's not fellowship..

HEART.
ear for us to hear teos
teos is a greek word for God.
means to hear God.

#3 conscience
Romans 9:1
1 With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.
conscience; alarm clock, like a "spy" in our spirit, a judge.

Acts 23:1
1 Gazing intently at the high council,Paul began: "Brothers, I have always lived before God with a clear conscience!”
Paul repeatedly said this over and over again...
Acts 24:16
16 Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.

2 Cor 1:12
12 We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God-given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God's grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

conscience not clear = spirit will be weaken.
spirit weaken = not sensitive to spiritual world.

Heb 10:22
22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

we're cleansed by the blood of Christ from guilty conscience so that it will not condemn us.

1 Tim 1:5
5 The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

love and sincere faith will only produce from pure conscience!

we need to know how conscience function in order to keep our conscience clear.
conscience function according to your knowledge.

1 John 3:20-22
20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
21 Dear friends, if we don't feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.

Example; 1 Cor 8:10-11
10 For if others see you—with your "superior knowledge"-eating in the temple of an idol, won't they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol? 11 So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed.

reject the voice of conscience = shipwrecked our faith.

conscience will be hardened and slowly it won't bother you..

7 steps how God restore us back to original design of God.

Gen 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
likewise in the beginning God created us.
but later on become formless & empty because we sin.

Gen 1:3-5
3 Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day" and the darkness "night."
#1 let the light shine into your life
everyone who've accepted Christ is because u've seen Jesus before.
not with physical eyes. but in Spirit.
because the light shine into our spiritual life.

14 When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, "Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!"

Gen 1:6-8
6 Then God said, "Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth." 7 And that is what happened. #2 separate spirit from your soul
Heb 4:12
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

spirit; spiritual life

#3 produce spiritual food
Gen 1:9-13
9 Then God said, "Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear." And that is what happened. 10 God called the dry ground "land" and the waters "seas." And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, "Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And that is what happened. 12 The land produced vegetation—all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And evening passed and morning came, marking the third day.

Lord allow the land to appear again!
to be fruitful.
3rd day; a day of RESURRECTION!
likewise when we learn to separate our spirit &soul, to deny ourselves.
experience the resurrection power of God.
to begin to bear spiritual food to glorify God.

#4 shine forth our light
Gen 1:14-16
14 Then God said, "Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them mark off the seasons, days, and years. 15 Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth." And that is what happened. 16 God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars.

first day: spiritual light
; shine in to our heart
fourth day: physical light
; shine forth to the man

Matt 5:16
16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

#5 have Freedom
Gen 1:20-23
20 Then God said, "the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind." 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 Then God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth." 23 And evening passed and morning came, marking the fifth day.
fifth day: creation of fishes.. birds in the air..

God wants us to have Freedom in Christ!
break free from the bondage of sin.

#6 enter into original design
Gen 1:24-28
24 Then God said, "Let the earth produce every sort of animal, each producing offspring of the same kind—livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals." And that is what happened. 25 God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to produce offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, "Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground." 27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground."

#7 enter into His rest
Gen 2:1-3
1 So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2 On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.

tiredness comes from a fallen nature;
God no need rest.

REST is created for us!
not rest in peace but rest in spirit.

Matt 11:28-30
28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

God will give us rest!
Jesus give the Perfect example.
Matt 8:23-24
23 Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. 24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

Jesus totally rest in God.
Jesus was sleeping peacefully even in the storm.
this is what we called REST!

- Everything u do, go a little farther.

- Believe and trust God ALWAYS.

- When u wanna give up, just go a little farther.

- Not step backwards like a timid person, but buck up and go a little farther.

Deuteronomy 7:22
- The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.

- Walk with God rather than run.
It means that we should walk slowly, step by step with God and not run so quickly as though u are going for a race. (:

- Go a little farther for family, nation, ministry, studies, everything u do.
We'ill see an unbelieveable blessing from God.

- Keep on overcoming.

- Keep on moving.

CREATION OF MAN (part1)

7 reasons why God created us:

#1 HAVE HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

God is love, so our life is motivated by love.
we seek love in our whole life.
selfishness -> self-centeredness -> greedy
He wants us to look like Him.

#2 EXERCISE HIS DELEGATED AUTHORITY
God is still in control.
we lost our authority (eg, dogs chase us, mosquito bite us) because we sin.

#3 HE WANTS US TO BE LIKE CHRIST

Genesis 1:27
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
we are made in Jesus' image.

Colossians 1:15
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation.
God in invisible. people only see God in visions, not in person.
our physical body cannot withstand His glory and power.

#4 TO RECEIVE HIS BLESSINGS

Genesis 1:28
Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

when we receive Jesus into our life, we have gone back to the original plan of God

#5 BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY
in our studies, work, spiritually, we got to be fruitful and multiply

John 15:16-17
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.

be fruitful and multiply, at the same time, we must love each other.
be a blessing to people with what you have.

#6 ENJOY HIS PROVISION

Genesis 1:29
Then God said, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food."

He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider.
if we walk in His ways, we can depend on Him to provide for our needs. if we choose to walk in our own ways, we got to provide for our own needs. so, be humble and submit to His ways.

#7 BECAUSE HE SAW THAT IT IS GOOD

Genesis 1:31
Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

if we reject ourself, we will reject other people, then we will reject the grace of God.

-ok some simple points here.. God uses a harlot named Rahab. harlot = prostitute in our language. if God can use her, God definitely can use u!

Verse 9
Rahab told the man of God that the people living near her were fainthearted because of him and his fren. the 2 spies.
Verse 10
Rahab den state our the reasons why they were fainthearted. Because of the many things that they did wif God. and the things aren't normal.. crossing of the red sea.. destroying of big armies.
--Who will tink of crossing the red sea if the Lord did not mention/ initialize it? imagine in the olden days.. will u tink of crossing the red sea? nope nope. water part and u cross on foot? nono..
Attempt great things of faith with Jesus! imagine Jesus ask u to jump from an airplane den u will land safely on china to share Christ. (just a suggestion) do u do it? lols sounds weird but all the things of faith leads people to God.

Doubt no.1
-Rahab now knew that God is powerful and is real. yet she did not ask to know the Lord. She merely ask for kindness and not to kill her family. why?

Overall, Rahab lied/sinned for a greater cause. im not saying that u can sin! the bible says there is absolutely no reason for sin. but when u gotta make a choice, choose the greater cause. for example, honour parents or honour God? i still rmb the time i told my mum God is above parents... LOL! try it =]

Disarming Your Doubt

Doubt; uncertainty; lacking of a firm confimation
Doubt is not the opposite of faith but it is the
OPPORTUNITY of faith.

opposite of faith is unbelief.(refuses to consider)

doubt demands evidence

everyone would have their own doubts,
it's inevitable.
#doubt will draw us near to God
& deeper our relationship with God.

doubt cause you to ASK questions to clear doubt.
questioning spirit is not sinful,
but a rite of passage that we

5 steps to disarm your doubts

Faith is when we're willing to embrace the doubts,
ask the difficult questions and face the answers.

#2. ARTICULATE your doubts CLEARLY

doubt that you can't name is the one you can't harbour because it will lead to disbelief.

doubt can bring you on a journey and it can bring you back on track with God.

#3. ACKNOWLEDGE your doubts PRAYERFULLY

5. ACCEPT the limitations HUMBLY

we're limited

we're living in a limited environment but we have a LIMITLESS God

(i) Accept the bible's limitations

it is the word of God

it is true and is the full and final authority
But God is bigger than we think,

there is too much to study about God.

Everyday, we'll discover something new about Him

There may be certain doubts that we might

not have answer for but someday,

we'll get the answer.

(ii) Accept your own limitations

we need to admit our ignorance

we'll never have all the answers

there'll be times where you don't understandand & where certain doubts of yours will go on

His ways are higher than your ways;

Joshua 1

The book of Joshua talks about the people of Israel learning a crucial lesson under Joshua's capable leadership. Victory comes through faith in God and obedience to His word, rather than wordly things like more numbers confirm win....

VERSE 2
-This verse struck me as I think. Moses is dead, so now God chose Moses's assistant, Joshua to continue leading the people of Israel. So i stopped and think. Cellgroup. When suay suay the cgl dies.. will the core leaders be able to take up the role of cgl? or will they be willing to take up the role of cgl? just a though and it obviously says that if u r a leader now, be a good leader like Moses who ensured that after his death, another person can take over him.

Verse 6,7,9,18.
Be strong and of good courage. Be bold and courageous. In one chapter, the word of God repeated this phrase 4 times! There must be a purpose for that rite?
So stopped and think again.
1.) outright purpose
be bold and courageous. difficult to understand meh alamak.
When we face troubles, the NATURAL response for humans is to haizz sigh... ask ourselves why why why why why as if we have the answer WHY?!
i rmb this. Weikun of zealot 3 had a game account once, it was hacked and he created a new account, and named it "whyme".
to me, it is like saying why i so suay to kena hacked?! but how would he have the answer? even though sometimes we dun haf the answers... we still keep asking ourselves why... never ending asking.. leads to being emo =]
Rather than do tat, be bold and courageous and ask God! shout to God if u wan, fight for blessings as Jacob did. fight for answers! for onli He have the answers to ALL ur doubts. =]

2.) DRILL
nice title huh? drill. the bible uses repetition to drill into our hearts. be bold and courageous. inside my brain has an image of lz "be bold and courageous!" tat time when pastor taught it he used to repeat... irritating... but useful! it realli gets inside ur brain. for example.. u play a new song to urself. 100 times u cfm get the lyrics. =] simple hahaha..
so how to apply? in our cg.. school.. normal life.. began to recite bible verses to each other.. tat way we help and benefit each other to drill in verses to be holy. for God said, "be holy for I am holy".
Area vision? be passionate and Christ-like? drill it into everyone!

Verse 17
Let me translate for you guys. it meant to say that the people of Israel will support and follow Joshua.. with one condition. That is if God is with Joshua as much as He was with Moses. Which of cuz we know, God is with Joshua as God called Joshua into leadership =.=
your leaders are called by God.... follow them well!

Verse 18.
Favourite. Those tat do not heed Joshua's word, they said this.. "they shall be put to death!" wow powerful man.. Because Joshua's word will come from God.. dun obey = die. how many times haf u disobey ur leaders? =p yes im guilty of it too. so we gotta change.

1. exhibits lack of trust in God.
2. damages our health.
3. affects our relationships.

Causes of worry
#1 the affluence of our age
#2 difference stages of life experiences
it's natural for you to worry!
#3 our pace of life
worry = choke/strangle your spiritual life.

3 factors to counter attack worry
1. “Focus” Factor:
when worried , you will lose your focus

in Greek, worry actually means to pulled in different direction (distracted)
focus on God and NOT worries!
do not allow worries to take over your life!
your character is the ONLY thing you bring along to Heaven.

the difference is how we response to these sicknesses?
we have PEACE! FOCUS on GOD!

practical steps to do to seek God First.
1) put God first
where God is, you want to be also.
(attend cell group & church service regularly)
2) pray and read the bible regularly
3) tithe and offering

2. “Father” factor: Remember his faithfulness

wah!! i realise i have MORE THINGS to share. but i trying to keep it short so that u all catch the main points.

today i learn that it's time to PUT DOWN EVERYTHING and JUST FOLLOW HIM. let's see wat actualy happen. (check it out.)

1st case:
Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men." 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

2nd case:
27After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, 28and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.

this is actually a story abt how Jesus got His 1st disciples! Go read the story! understand how it happen. today's question ARE WE READY FOR A DISCIPLE? those of u who has/have also listen up. are we actually being a role model for our disciple/s? ask ourselve this question. those of u who has/have, do u really think that u r able to feed ur disciples with good, solid spiritual food? or continue feeding them spiritual milk? wat do u wanna see? a disciple that is after God's heart or seeing them backslide 1 day after u commit so much of ur time to that person? think abt it. and if we really wan them to be strong in God, we need to start to get our own lifes rite and lead them not by ur strength and agenda but by God's srength and agenda. AWESOME! stop taking short cuts! when u got to do, u got to do it! stop running away because u're lazy? tired? watever! because we're dealing with God's precious begins.

wells... and now some of u who dun has/have disciples? isnt matthew 28:16-20 stated it clear? THE GREAT COMMISSION. now, i'm not forcing u to have 1 instantly or wat. dun do it for the leaders to see. but check ur heart? since matthew did stated cleary. why arent we still having no disciples? isit? because i'm still in my comfort zone? or i'm still wanting to enjoy my life to the fullness? or i am fearful to disciple ppl? or or or?? are u really going to let all these barries stop you from giving God ur 100%?

ask mi wat's the time now? and i'll tell u. it's time to PUT DOWN EVERYTHING AND FOLLOW CHRIST.

man... i still have alot alot to share. but! i think let's start working on this and most importantly our relationship with God first! get ur depths realy deep before we go into much more exciting and interesting things abt Him. imagine if u can only store 30% and i'm pouring 90%. 60% of the things wil be overflowed and eventually u dun catch it. so wat's the point? i read this, and wanna share with you guys.

Isaiah 29

today, my sharing is simple. Heart of worship.

Israel is in sin. They have sinned against God, and God wanted to destroy them like how He helped them destroy their enemies! Such irony! The story goes on.

Isa 29:13 (NLT)
And so the Lord says,
"These people say they are mine.
They honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
And their worship of me
is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.

How sad can this be, that the very basis and reason for worship is lost! There is nothing wrong with honoring God with our lips, but are we doing it out of routine? are we doing it because the guy on stage tells us how to do so, or is it your cell group leader teach you how to worship, by lifting your hands and singing songs to God, therefore you do it?

James 2:20 (NLT)
How foolish! Can't you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

In the same way, deeds without faith is also useless. they have to go together, hand in hand, in order for it to be of use, to promote growth in you. Let me tell you one open secret. Service 2 is famous for doing, evangelism, discipleship, missions. But are we doing it for the sake of doing so, or are we doing it because our heart is close to God, and we want to serve Him?

Scroll down and refer to yesterday's sharing by brother Liangzhi. Before we do things, examine ourselves. Are we filled with the Holy Spirit, full of His compassion and love, before we do some of the things we do, such as discipleship? When we evangelise, do we do it for the sake of showing our cell leader, to expand the cell group, to have a disciple under you, or it is because you feel God's heartbeat, and long for the person to be saved?

Yesterday i went to Liangzhi's house to slack, and he told me something that sets me thinking. He went to his mother's church one day, and he saw an amazing sight that he himself cound not believe. When the church members are filled with the Holy Spirit, they begin dancing! Ok, not my style of dancing, but a very graceful dance. They are so filled with the Spirit that they just dance in His presence, because He is so good! What's more, those are uncles and aunties!! (sorry zhi, for calling your mum an auntie.) There are also people who bellow joyfully, the sound of their laughter carries no fear and intimidation, but of great joy and happiness!

Are you doing things because you are filled with the spirit? I'm not telling you to imitate them or me, but worship God in your own style when you praise and worship Him, with a heart of worship, not out of oblignation! drop the "oh, my cell leader is watching me, i better put on a show" mindset and get the "man, Jesus is so good that i wanna worship him!!" mindet!!

Let me make a confession. Even i have fallen into this sin of doing for the sake of doing. Before we do something, let's examine our hearts. Are we doing it because we have to put on a show, or are we doing it because we love God? Think and pray.

Jesus was fasting 40 days and nights.(dunno the story go read Luke 4.) now, Satan came to tempt Jesus in 3 different ways! and guess wat? he got SMACK with 3 different bible verses from Jesus rite in his ugly face! (claps claps) wat am i trying to highlight here? simple.. when u r tempted use bible verses to counter. hey! but u first need to memorise some wat! unless u dun wan breakthrus, discipline urself to memorise it. let mi help u with that!

make sure everyone of u know this at the back of ur mind. i'm serious u know. if u wanna experience God all these u need to go against ur flesh(meaning? ur own desires!) to seek God. if u wan to see devil flee from u. u need to discipline urself. if u wanna live a victorious life, u need to think of things that helps u grow closer to God and not further from Him. start working on it.

so Jesus was spirit filled. He begin to do things that normal human strength is incapable. drive out evil spirits and heal many manty many. Jesus is God mahs. therefore He cans. but guys! do u know each of us have holy spirit with us? all we need to do is ask God to fill us with the holy spirit. imagine ur life filled with the spirit, when u go sch.. u can sense ur friends' feelings. then help them. u can be aware of God speaking to u. wun it be GREAT? everything u do will be like siant. u will know wat u should and should not do. WOW! in this way, we sure can bring glory to God. when ur friend sick, u can approach them and offer to pray for them and see God heals and start to share Christ with ur friend. oh man...

guys? wat kinda life would u choose? know y Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights? when u fast, ur flesh decreases and ur spirit inreases. which means. "MORE OF GOD AND LESS OF ME. best is NONE of me. Jesus was so eager to seek God.

start to live a different life that u're living rite now. let it be spirit filled. u got to have a life changed. pray every morning to ask God to fill u thru out the day! start ur day with Him and end ur day with Him.

can u see the eagerness in them? trying to change if they have to? even before the Lord comes.

guys... Christ is in us. He has alr REACHED! but are we as eager to change as the ppl who were still expecting the Lord's arrival? sometimes, we know wat is rite and wat is wrong. but it's a matter of choice whether we wanna let go and follow after Him. i know it's difficult to let go certain things. some of us might even doubt abt God. but hey, rmb? christianity is not base on performaces or mircales. it is base on relationship which requires FAITH to go along.

agree with mi? the more stronger ur relationship with God the more u wanna please Him? but how to have a closer relationship? by doing quiet time and praying is enough? u think so? wat abt if God say give up ur cca, television, computer, PSP, (how abt this?) BGR or anithing that is precious to you which is hindling ur relationship with God? will you by faith go and obey? or choose to ignore?

stronger relationship with God or weaker relationship with God? it's ur call. the difference between both is how much faith do u have in Him? and faith is really something u dun get to see but u believe in ur heart!

Luke 2

today i read chapter 2. God spoke to me again. not surprising. You guys ready to hear wat God has installed for u all too? = )

There was this part where Jesus actually stayed behind in the temple and the rest of them including the parents left. It's not as if they did it intentionally, they didnt know it until their parents were looking for Him and could not find Him. Then, the rushed back to look for Him, and there He is. sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard Him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

then the parents saw him, came to Him and said "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."

(check out how Jesus replied)
then Jesus replied "Why were you searching for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"

Puase! did u see how Jesus replied? He did shout back at His earthly parents or even cursed and swear! He did not say things like.

He wasn't rude to His earthly parents instead He treated them with respect! take a moment and think thru abt our own parents. how is our attitude like towards them? i admit last time mine was terrible! i shout back, i argue my way out and i even slam things here and there. but is this how we should react? i know it's gonna be difficult to try patching things up? but God wans us to start somewhere. it's a matter of time. y not start today? start small. small conversation will do. learn to control ur temper. depend on God's strength and not ours. and soon you see things changed. and when it happens, dun forgot to thank God.

stop running away from this prob if u have. start to face it with God. overcome it together with God. God put us in this family for a purpose. tonite i'll continue part 2 abt Jesus had wisdom.

Luke 1

Was reading thru this chapter and God taught me about how important God sees righteousness is. Zacharias and Elizabeth were both righteous before God. and guess what? God found favor in them. Elizabeth was barren, (what is barren? barren is not producing or incapable of producing.) but God still gave them a child who will be named John. i dunno how you guys think after reading this, but i really feel that if we wanna find favor in God, we need to be righteous before God. We may be lousy, incapable, not talented or ani form of imperfection but for with God nothing will be impossible. God will still be able to use us for His glory! but question is?

Are we ready to be used by God?
Do we recognised that we are imperfect and we need God in our lifes?
Are we ready to be use by Him in any aspects?

Or have we been keeping some part of our lifes to ourselves? but even before we answer to these questions, the very main question we need to ask is. ARE WE SERIOUS IN GOD? if we are, those questions asked earlier on will not be a problem to answer. because if we are serious in Him, we will wanna be righteous before Him. When we start to be serious in Him and pursue righteousness, we will then understand bit by bit of God's characteristic and how awesome is to please God.

pls do think thru whatever i've just shared on. maybe ask urself those questions. see whether r u able to ans them. but! answer that main question first. Are you serious in Him?

- Anger could be very distractable.

- This world is full of anger.

- Ask yourself, what makes you angry?

- An hungry man is an angry man.

- An hungry woman is an angry woman.

- Uncontrol anger is very dangerous.

5 steps to deal with anger:

Ephesians 4:26-28
- "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

Ephesians 4:29-32
- Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

“Be angry, and do not sin”

- Anger is a normal emotion.

1. "In your anger, do not sin."

1.1 - God created anger for good purpose, good intentions. Even God gets angry.

John 2:14-15
- In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

1.2 - His anger was righteous anger.

1.3 - Not anger is sinful.

1.4 - Human anger tends to be self-motivated rather than God-motivated.

1.5 - Human anger is generally an offensive weapon we use to defend our pride.

1.6 - Anger is the same as fire. We need to control.

3 ways people express anger:

1. Explode = to show your anger out.
2. Implode = to burst inward.
3. Become victim = keep complaining "why me. why not others?"

1.7 - Be careful how you express your anger.

1.8 - Do not gossip while you are angry.

2. Anger must resolve
- "Do not let the sun goes down while you are still angry."

2.1 - When you go to bed angry, we wake up angrier because it has already settled in.

2.2 - Settlewith the person first before you go to bed.

Girls: blood pressure rises up 6 points more if you gets angry.
Guys: blood pressure rises up 14 points more if you gets angry.

2.3 - When we get angry, anger takes control of us.

(i) Unresolved anger will blind us from what is good.
(ii) Unresolved anger isolate us from others.
(iii) Unresolved anger will cause us to be unGodly.

3. Anger open doors to the devil

Genesis 4:6-7
- Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? f you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

3.1 - When anger gets a hold of your life, you are prone to do things which you will regret.

4. Anger will turn to words that will hurt people
- "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out your mouth."

4.1 - Do not use sms, msn to resolve your anger. Best is meet the person up and talk to him/her face to face.

Proverbs 22:24-25
- Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

5. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God

How can you be angry and yet be good? There are 3 ways..

1. EXAMINE yourself
1.1 - How do you express your anger?
1.2 - What kind of person you want to be?
1.3 - What kind of person God wants you to be?

2. STOP and THINK
2.1 - Why am i angry? Is it because of the solution? Or is it because of the person?
2.2 - Is it worth angry of?
- Pick your battles carefully.
2.3 - What do you want out of this encounter?

3. Replace your anger

Ephesians 4:31-32

What is Forgiveness?

ability is what you are capable of doing,

Something outside of sermon notes. Just thought that maybe I should type it here. I went for my clinical attachment in cck polyclinic. Overheard the nurses commenting about catholics and Christians. Abit of their conversation..

Nurse1: Christians hor, can don’t go to church one leh. I have Christian friends that go to church when they feel like going. When they busy then they don’t go already. Some more some of them their attitude really sucks lah.
Nurse 2: yah lor. I also think like that. Catholics more devoted in a sense that they make their Sunday free and will always go to church.

Since we are the walking answers to the world, since we are made to be extra-ordinary, since we are called to be the salt and light of the word, its really time to make a difference.

ACTS 2:42-47
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. OVERCOMING TEMPTATION

- Temptation itself is not a sin.

- Temptation will be with you all the time.

- When you fall into temptation, it is because you did not walk away.

1 Corinthians 10:12-14
- So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

- Satan study everything about us and he tries ways for us to fall into temptation.

- Instead of coming out of temptation, you will focus more on it.

- Don't ever think you are alone!

- Temptation is a fork in the road, it's the presentation of a choice of which road to travel: the High one or Low one.

- God puts certain temptation into our lives for us to struggle, to make us stronger.

- When you are stronger in christ, temptation will be tougher.

7 Temptation Overcomer Checklist:

1. Recognize the Possibility of Temptation

- Forewarned is forearmed. In battle, the enemy's best weapon is surprise. Don't let the devil sneak up on you.

2. Request Help in Time of Temptation

Matthew 6:13
- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Matthew 26:41
- "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

3. Resist the Devil and he will Flee from you

Flee =running away in fear

- The best way to make the devil flee is to use the Word of God.

- Know your enemy., half your battle is won.

4. Retreat from Certain Kinds of Temptation

(i) Flee from idol

- An idol is coming between you and God.

- An idol is taken the 1st place in your heart, which is replace with God.

(ii) Flee from immorality

Flee from immorality:
1 Corinthians 6:18
- Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Flee from youthful lusts:
2 Timothy 2:22
- Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

(iii) Flee from greed

1 Timothy 6:10-11
- For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

5. Remove and means of sin from you

- One way to get out of temptation, is to change your lifestyle.

6. Replace Bad Influences with Good Ones

Proverbs 13:20
- He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

2 Corinthians 6:14
- Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

- Focus of positive

7. Resolve to Take the High Road

High Road = Towards God
Low Road = Towards the world

- Temptation is a choice.

- Some people serve God but not to the fullest. So serve God to the fullest, God sees your heart. =)

- Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?

- It is rare to find faithful people.

- People are not committed to anything. example: school, church, marriage

- Being consistant, loyal, reliable

- Faithfulness is use for old.

Psalm 21:1 (New Living Translation)
- How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory.

- The greatest ability is dependability.

Why Develop Faithfullness?

1. TO BE LIKE GOD

3 Different ways that God is faithful

- "God is faithful by whom you were called into fellowship of His son."

1 Corinthians 10:13 - God is faithful
- No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

2. IT GUARANTEES GOD BLESSING ON MY LIFE

- What counts is our private life.

- If you want God to bless you, you got to be faithful.

- God sees everything.

Proverbs 25:19
- Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.

- Unfaithful person are such a pain.

- We need to be faithful too.

3. FAITHFULNESS PREPARES ME FOR MINISTRY

Nehemiah 7:2
- I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most men do.

- Faithfulness need to have a good track record.

4. FAITHFULNESS WILL BE REWARDED IN HEAVEN

- God can overlook your ignorance and God can overlook your lack of talents. But what He does not overlook is what you do with what you've got.

- One test we cannot fail is when we stand before God.

8 Steps of a Faithful person

1. He or She has right values

Proverbs 28:20
- A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

- To be faithful, you need not buy into the world's system that says money is the solution heart.

Luke 16:13
- "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

- Money is not the only thing in the world.

2. A faithful person cares for others' interest, not just his or her own.

- Relationship for others.

Timothy is a faithful person, we should be like him. =)

Philippians 2:20-22
- I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

3. He or She lives a life of integrity before the unbelieving world.

- We as christians need to have a good testimony in church and to the world too.

Daniel 6:4 (New Living Translation)
- Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

Daniel is the good example of a christian who has a good testimony.

4. A faithful person keep his pronises, keep his word

Proverbs 25:14
Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give.

Proverbs 20:25
- It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider his vows.

- Keep your promise!!

5. He or She develops and uses his or her spiritual gifts.

1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

- Faithfulness is based on what we do with what we have.

6. A faithful person manages his money well

- When you get to heaven, one of the things that God is going to look at to determine the reward that you have given and the future responsibilities is how you have handled your finances. The bible is clear about this.

Luke 16:11
- So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

- Money is not almighty but we cannot live without money.

- The more you earn, the more you will spend.

- It is blessed to receive then give.

- Tithe and offering is not about God, it's about you!! So give your tithe and offering faithfully. =)

1. Fear of the Lord.

There are 2 kinds of fear:

- You will fight back.
- You will be in a lost, don't know what to do.

Deuteronomy 5:29
- Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!

Deuteronomy 10:12
- And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Ecclesiastes 12:13
- Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Psalm 33:8
- Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.

- The fear of God should draw us near to God.

2 Timothy 1:7
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Challenges to all of u: 1st thing when u wake up, says "I am Christian". To remind yourself that u need to live a Christian life.

- The knowledge of wisdom

- Everybody can help, but no matter what, God is the best solution.

- The knowledge of sins

- Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.

- When you fear the Lord, you will avoid sins.

- The fear of the Lord will get you through hard times.

- It is important for leaders to fear God.

2 things that causes Christians to fall away:
- Relationship
- Community

- Put words into action. Do beyond saying.

- True community is about sharing of life at gut level.
It means u treat your church people like close family.

- True community isn't just a group of friends, we will correct the sins of theirs in love.

- True community is when conflicts happen.

- When problems come don't run away!! Face it!! Deal it!!

- We live in a community that is egoistic, that is selfish.

- Consider others more then ourself.

Romans 14:13
- Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

Colossians 3:16
- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

- We need to have the word of God inside us. If not we will handle things with anger.

Acts 2:42-47 (You all can go read yourself, i wont post it out coz it's too long.. ^^)

"Koinonia" (Greek) = Fellowship/Participation/Sharing/Partnership/Communion.

1. Participation
They were withnessness to signs and wonders together.
(They had the same spiritual history)

Acts 2:43
- Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.

2. Sharing
They shared their material possessions together.

Acts 2:42-45
- They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

- Caring is just an emotions that I care for you.

- Fellowship means must take action.

- Stop being a hypocrite!

- If people need help we should help them in what we can, that's what the church is about.

- We should help one another, carry each others burden.

- Do not give because u wan to gain something.

3. Partnership
They worship together.

- We are a worshipping community.

Acts 2:46a-47
- Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

- Don't lose patience with people!

4. Communion
They shared their lives.
They were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart.
